我的健康观

昨天早上和阮打了次网球，发现自己体力严重不支，而且挥拍动作不行，时常把球打飞。和阮互相督促锻炼身体使我觉得好像又回到了在ＵＣＯＮＮ读书时的日子。那时阮教我开车，经常练习完就去Williamatic吃肯德基，而且特喜欢肥大的鸡翅。也许真是因为当年太不注意，结果导致现在吃鸡肉都很少而且只吃鸡胸脯的瘦肉，可血脂还是偏高，ＬＤＬ也居高不下。那时期末赶课程报告连熬两个通宵，第三天教了报告就开车去波士顿，现在两天开个九百多迈到Dayton，精神上好长时间缓不过来。发现人过了年富力强的青春期真要注意身体，不过我的健康观和ＬＤ有所不同。我不太相信形形色色的营养保健品，包括各种抗氧化制品诸如ＯＰＣ－３。我相信吃蔬菜水果和其他正常食品已经摄入了人体需要的主要营养成分，其他少量维生素钙片一类东东只需要适当补充，甚至在没有化验依据前不必定期服用。我不相信所谓organic产品比同类非organic产品更健康，除非生产加工过程中存在科学验证过的显著差异。事实上很多时候公众在不完全知情的情况下完全是价格歧视的牺牲品。我不相信中医调理瑜珈打坐基督教信仰祷告以及其他各种靠心理暗示获得的短暂娱悦，我觉得散步慢跑和积极的人生态度更能让人提高工作效率。说到底，健康的生活态度首先是不要让身体透支，其次是对各种缺乏实验依据的主张持有适度怀疑，而最难做到的是常常怀有一颗年轻的心。

Dr. Huang Now …

老婆博士毕业典礼在新奥尔良大圆顶边上的篮球馆举行。Tulane大学最后一批ＥＥＣＳ的博士都很重视博士加冕仪式，大量的亲友团都早早坐在观众席上等待激动人心的时刻。相比之下，远道而来的福新，加上我的同事Dimitrios，我们三人团体的声势一下差了很多，不过最后等到老婆上台接受导师挂博士兜那一刻，我还是扯直脖子喊了一嗓子，可惜隔得太远老婆根本没听到。晚上我们去上城有名的中东餐馆（号称突尼斯风格）庆祝，还等到了有名的肚皮舞表演。大家水足饭饱之后还在我家里开了福新带来的香槟，欣赏了一盘老婆从国内带来的学肚皮舞的ＤＶＤ。最值得称道的是博士证书也在毕业典礼上领到了，这下老婆可以挺直腰板接受别人Dr. Huang的称呼啦。
