Hurricane Katrina Anniversary

Well, I would say the 20 percent of the city that’s been rebuilt looks fantastic, looks absolutely great. If you’re staying in one of the hotels along Canal Street, you won’t be disappointed. Eighty percent of the city that’s been … Continue reading

Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins explains why God is a delusion, religion is a virus, and America has slipped back into the Dark Ages

Once again, evolution is under attack. Are there any questions at all about its validity? It’s often said that because evolution happened in the past, and we didn’t see it happen, there is no direct evidence for it. That, of … Continue reading

Candidates@Google: Ron Paul

Not until today I found that Ron Paul as a conservative republican is even more likable than Hilary Clinton.    Lower taxes benefit all of us, creating jobs and allowing us to make more decisions for ourselves about our lives. We … Continue reading

Conversation(s) with Other Women,有点象舞台剧。   He met her 12 years ago, and they had a fling. He never forgot her, but she left for England, two husbands and a daughter. She has returned to the United States … Continue reading

Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.

"How can you research the future?" people keep asking. "It hasn’t happened yet." I argue that the past is either forgotten, or it hasn’t finished happening yet, either – nor will you understand the present till it’s over. So we … Continue reading

The Clink

On the site of the original Clink prison, there is a fascinating exhibition examining some of London’s unsavoury past. The prison is known as The Clink from the 15th century and was owned by successive Bishops of Winchester. From the 12th century … Continue reading
