圣塔·芭芭拉的夏日

从洛杉矶一路往北往西开九十多英里，进入圣塔·芭芭拉这个海滨城市，感觉从新奥尔良闷热的夏日一下跳变到四季如春的南加州，海风轻拂，空气清新而干燥，旅途的疲劳很快一扫而光。 晴朗的白天在我看来穿一件单衣足够，不过太平洋的海水对象我同事那样喜欢游泳的人来说还是有点冷，尽管如此，我住的旅馆对面海滩上时常看到冲浪爱好者的身影。 回想我第一次参加ONR/GTRI Workshop是九年前，那时我只是个博士生，能和领域里的牛人们合影已经觉得很荣幸了，如今碰到与会者作为同行交流，心境和过去又有很多不同。我的博士导师从六十到七十岁好像没有过去那么热衷于开船出海了，我和他在圣塔·芭芭拉前后脚竟然没有机会碰面。 傍晚租辆自行车在海滨一路狂奔可以领略风声在耳边呼啸的惬意，公园里不少飞车和滑板爱好者则以表演高难动作吸引路人驻足。运动过后在码头餐馆吃顿新鲜的烤鱼让我在南加州的一天过得几近完美。
